Earth's Magentic Field stops the direct radiations and heat coming from Sun to protect the Earth's surface. Its job is to repel the rays and make them weaker enough to come to Earth.
But on 21st January, 2009, NASA observed that the Earth's Magnetosphere received a magnetic blast coming from Sun. And on January 23rd, the Magnetic Field lines were very erratic and were twisting!
Then, another observation came that the Earth's Magnetic Field is having a giant breach which is much dangerous for Earth.
On September 29, 2009, another Magnetic Field Twist came into being.
